Woodford Children’s Home RECIEVES ‘GOOD’ OFSTED RATING
We are pleased to announce that Woodford Children’s Home was recently subject to an unannounced Ofsted inspection.
This was the first full inspection under the leadership of the new management team who have been in place since July 2020 and are restructuring the service to become a Therapeutic Community as recognised by the Royal Institute of Psychiatrists. The home was rated GOOD and this is testament to the strengths of the whole team who care for our children in this home. Ofsted found that for our children;
“Staff and managers ensure that culture and diversity are championed. Staff act as positive role models and actively encourage and celebrate differences between all members of the household. This has helped children to feel accepted and has given them a sense of belonging.”
They also found that for our colleagues;
“Staff say that they are very well supported and benefit from regular supervision, induction, team meetings, group supervision, therapeutic support and training.”
The findings of Ofsted really reflect our ethos and values at Woodford and what we as an organisation would aspire to be seen as by others. It is confirmation for us that we are doing the right things for our children and our colleagues.
