OUR HOMES
DISTRICT HOUSE
Welcome to Disctrict House
District House is a residential home for children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties aged 11-17. We provide care based on the principles of systemic practice as defined by the Institute of Family Therapy (IFT).
District House staff undertake a 12-month training programme comprised of our own 6 month foundation certificate in Integrated Systemic Therapy and then go to undertake a further 6 month course delivered in partnership with the IFT.
This training allows us to provide integrated programmes of care for our children that consider not only their needs as an individual, but also understand the wider systemic context within which those needs must be met.
Young people placed with us will be able to continue to develop into adult life and progress through our Step-Down Plan to either foster care, semi-independence or return to family.
Our aim is to help children to achieve outcomes equivalent to their peers who are not looked after children. We are committed to creating environments where children and young people can have their care, emotional, educational and health needs met by experienced and informed staff.
